ACHPR Policy Brief & Newsletter Contribution on Torture Prevention

As part of our commitment to human rights advocacy and accountable governance, VICAI was privileged to contribute to the inaugural newsletter published by the Committee for the Prevention of Torture in Africa (CPTA), a specialized mechanism of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR).

Our publication focused specifically on "The Role of Education and Training in Preventing Torture in Africa," utilizing Uganda as a primary national case study. The piece highlights strategic frameworks for building institutional capacity and fostering systemic reform across legal, security, and civic sectors.

Continental Visibility

Positioned VICAI’s research and evidence-based perspectives within a primary ACHPR publication distributed across African Union member states.

Actionable Recommendations

Delivered concrete policy steps for institutional stakeholders to integrate human rights education directly into institutional curricula.

Strengthened Institutional Engagement

Advanced VICAI’s strategic focus on policy advocacy, legal accountability, and human rights promotion on both national and continental levels.
