As part of VICAI’s ongoing high-level policy advocacy and legal diplomacy, our leadership represented the organization at the Ordinary Sessions of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR) in Banjul, The Gambia.

During the session, VICAI engaged in strategic discussions with Hon. Essaiem Hatem, Commissioner and Chairperson of the Committee for the Prevention of Torture in Africa (CPTA). The engagement focused on strengthening regional mechanisms for institutional accountability, promoting state compliance with anti-torture frameworks, and amplifying national human rights challenges—such as those in Uganda—onto continental policy platforms.
